The EDL (edit decision list) is a way of writing down timecodes of the good shots and signing them off in the edit. It's a way of reviewing the footage.

1) Make sure the visuals and audio link properly, eg lip sync is matching the visuals or cuts are on the drum beat

How to do an EDL
You need to

- Rename your clips
- Create a folder for each day of shooting
- Put all the day's clips in the sequence
- Export the sequence to EDL (File export EDL)
- Open EDL in Textedit
- Print and tick/cross the good and bad shots
- Add the bad shots that need reshooting to a new Production Schedule and plan when you will film them.
